Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Professional Organizer?

A Professional Organizer is someone who comes into a client’s home and helps them declutter, organize, and set up systems to better manage their belongings, their space, and their time. They coach the client through the decluttering process, organize what’s left based off the space provided, and work with the client to put systems in place to keep their home from getting out of control again.

What is clutter?

Clutter is anything that fills or covers your space with scattered or disorganized items to the point that it impedes movement or reduces effectiveness. Basically, it’s the stuff that keeps you from living your best life. Too much paper so you can’t quickly find what you need. Too many toys or clothes on the floor so you can’t move around your house.

When should I hire a Professional Organizer?

If you can relate to any of these thoughts or feelings, it’s time to call in a professional.

  • Tired of being stuck

  • Overwhelmed about where to start

  • Guilt of getting rid of items from friends or family

  • Lack of time or energy

  • Fear of going through items and the emotions they bring up

  • Health issues prevent you from working solo

  • Stress from moving or downsizing

  • Mental clutter and chaos stop you from getting started

How much can be accomplished during a session?

Quite a lot but there are some general variables that affects the work: the type of clutter you’ll be going through, how quickly you make decisions, the amount of energy and focus used during your time together.
